# How to Check if You're Part of an AWS Organization

**Onboarding to Pump can take one of two forms based on if your account is standalone, or part of its own AWS Organization. Here's how to Check:**

1. Log into your AWS Management Console
2. Search for “organizations” and go to the “AWS Organizations service” to go to [AWS Organizations > Dashboard](http://console.aws.amazon.com/organizations/v2/home/dashboard)
3. Determine if you’re in an organization:

**❌ Standalone Account (Not in an AWS Organization)**

If you see “Create organization,” you have a standalone account

**✅ Part of an AWS Organization**

If you see an organization dashboard with organization details, you're part of an AWS Organization. You can still work with Pump, and keep your AWS Organization!

### No, I have a standalone account

You can finish your Pump application in about 5 minutes.

1. **Agree to have Pump become your billing partner**: Pump help save your AWS accounts by becoming your billing partner. Once you join, you'll receive invoices from Pump with the savings applied, and you'll pay Pump directly instead of AWS.
2. **Agree to Pump’s terms of service**
3. **Grant billing-level only permissions:** Once you join, your savings will be activated and monthly invoices will be sent from Pump for your cloud bills.
4. **Complete the self-service setup and join Pump**

### Yes, I'm in an AWS organization

You can [**Book a meeting**](https://www.pump.co/schedule-a-demo) with a member of the Pump team, who will walk you through the seamless onboarding with Pump so you can start saving!

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.pump.co/aws/onboarding/how-to-check-if-youre-part-of-an-aws-organization.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
